Ganesh Chaturthi 2025, Barcelona

Celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi Barcelona, 2025

This year for Ganesh Chaturthi, we had the honor of performing in Barcelona across three different venues, celebrating with the Telugu Association, Kannara Association, and Marathi Association. The performances were presented by a group of dancers from Aapara Collective, a collective of resident dancers in Barcelona with whom I regularly collaborate.

Together with Supreeta, Laasya, Samyukta, Kodhai, and myself, we performed a vibrant Ganapati Thalam in the traditional style of Bharatanatyam, one of the oldest classical dance forms of India. Adding even more richness to the program, our junior students also participated, presenting pieces such as Pushpanjali and Ganesha Kauthuvam, showcasing their dedication and joy for the art.

As a dancer and teacher, I am committed to spreading this art form across Spain and Europe. For those interested in learning, I also offer Bharatanatyam classes in Madrid. Through these classes, students can explore not just the dance technique, but also the music, rhythm, and storytelling that make Bharatanatyam Madrid a unique cultural experience.

Ganesh Chaturthi is a celebration of new beginnings, wisdom, and the removal of obstacles, and bringing this spirit to the stage in Barcelona was truly unforgettable.
