79th Indian Independence Day

Bharatanatyam dance presentation celebrating the 79th Indian Independence Day at Embassy of India in Madrid.

On 15th August 2025, the Embassy of India in Madrid, Spain, celebrated India’s 79th Independence Day with great pride and enthusiasm. The event was inaugurated by Ambassador Shri Dinesh K. Patnaik, who warmly welcomed the community and highlighted the strong cultural and historical ties between India and Spain.

More than 350 Indian residents in Madrid, along with Spanish friends and international visitors, gathered at the Embassy to mark this important day. The celebration began with the flag hoisting ceremony, followed by the singing of the Indian National Anthem. The audience was then moved by beautiful renditions of patriotic songs, filling the atmosphere with joy and unity.

A special highlight of the event was a Bharatanatyam dance performance in Madrid, presented as part of the cultural program. The classical Indian dance, known as the dance of temples, expressed stories of freedom, devotion, and celebration, leaving the audience inspired.

After the performances, the Embassy hosted a session of refreshments, where participants, organizers, and community members came together to meet, share their experiences, and exchange ideas about India, Spain, and intercultural connections. This gathering created a warm atmosphere of friendship and dialogue, strengthening the bond within the community.

The Indian Independence Day celebration in Madrid was not only a patriotic event but also a cultural bridge, bringing people together through music, dance, and shared values of freedom and unity.
